Costalunga Pass stands as a landline between Trentino and Alto Adige, the Val dEga and the Val di Fassa. Widely known as a holiday resort, the pass is 8 km far from the village of Vigo di Fassa.
Costalunga Pass is surrounded by the Catinaccio and the Latemar groups and offers a wide range of summer activities, such as relaxing walks, hikes, mountain biking, horse riding and golf, with the highest green in Europe, famous in the 20th century among the Austrian and British nobles.
In winter the ski area Carezza is the ideal place for families with children and ski beginners, thanks to its easy and sunny slopes. Moreover the view of the Roda de Vael covered with snow is something really breath-taking.
On the pass there are two historical stoned buildings, Hotel Savoy painted in white and blue, the colours of the Val di Fassa Ladin tradition, and Golf Hotel, painted in white and brick red.
The famous Carezza Lake-Karersee is just beyond the Pass, laying at the foot of the Latemar Group. From a distance, one can see Grand Hotel Carezza, that used to be Princess Sissis residence, and hosted many celebrities in the past such as Winston Churchill and the writer Agatha Christie, who set in the hotel two novels of hers: Poirot and The Big Four.
