Sella Pass (2.244 m) connects Val di Fassa to nearby Val Gardena. To reach there by car from Canazei, one drives about 12 kilometres along the "Grande Strada delle Dolomiti" Trunk Road 48 (S.S. 48) then, at the turn off to Pordoi Pass, along Trunk Road 242. The ski area lies between Gruppo del Sassolungo, the Torri del Sella and the barrier of the Mesules. It is a strategic area for skiing: hospitable refuges, hotels right on the slopes, runs of easy and average difficulty, fast connections with Col Rodella, Belvedere di Canazei (descending along Val Salei to Pian de Frateces-Lupo Bianco) and the Dolomiti Superski area. In fact, one leaves here for Sellaronda, the most famous ski tour of the Alps.
