The ski area pivots on Canazei, the most renowned resort for skiing, refuges, après ski and lively nightlife in Val di Fassa. The lifts here are avant-garde, as is maintenance and the special care given to the pistes. More than 100 instructors of the Canazei/Marmolada Ski School, the oldest in Italy, guarantee maximum assistance and safety on skis; instruction is topped off by the healthy environment and by exceptional panoramas. It is because of its fantastic view of the Dolomites - Gruppo del Sassolungo, Sella, Sass Pordoi, Tofane, Marmolada and Catinaccio-Rosengarten (Natural World Heritage Site by Unesco) - that it was named Belvedere. It is reached in a few minutes from Canazei by a modern automatic coupling cableway or by driving several kilometres along the Dolomites Strada Statale 48 (Trunk Road 48). There are 17 km of slopes for every level (predominantly reds) in this ski area and there is the fully equipped Dolomiti Snowpark, reserved for freestylers, with the Baby Park (Funpark Enrosadira) next to it. From the sunny Belvedere basin it is possible, by crossing the piste that runs down towards Pian de Frataces-Lupo Bianco, to get over to the nearby ski area of Col Rodella, returning to Canazei along the trail in the woods, or to reach Arabba or nearby Val Gardena. It is the starting point for the legendary "Giro dei Quattro Passi" (Sellaronda), the ski tour of about 40 km considered among the most beautiful and spectacular in the world.
Col dei Rossi of Belvedere is also a privileged taking-off place for lovers of paragliding and deltaplaning. There are some nursery slopes for beginners and crèches on the snow for children in the town.
