In summer the Val di Fassa offers endless refreshment opportunities whether high up or on the green expanses in the side valleys. Real Alpine mountain refuges located at more than 2.200 metres, on Catinaccio, Pordoi and Sassolungo, Marmolada, Manzoni or Alpe di Lusia, offer the same luxuries, but above all the usual, traditional hospitality and generosity of the mountain huts and alpine dairies which welcome guests lower down. The less experienced Alpine climber is obliged to make a trip here to sample the genuine flavours of local produce or foods cooked in the traditional way, often in the open air. From Pian de Schiavaneis to Val Duron, from Val San Nicolò to the Gardeccia area, from Alpe di Fuciade to Alpe di Luisa and in many other areas still, there is a continuous medley of aromas, flavours, sensations.
