To boost energy between one run and the other, a break in one of the many mountain huts can’t be missed. Nothing works better to enjoy an unforgettable holiday in the Val di Fassa. Once you take off your skis, you can relax on the terrace of one of the many refuges and mountain huts in each ski area, where to stop to sunbathe, listen to live music and recover your energies.
When the pangs of hunger become unbearable, you just have to choose from a rich variety of typical Ladin dishes, crispy pizzas, or tasty snacks of speck and cheese. The true stars are the Dolomites, especially at sunset, when the take a peculiar coral red colour due to a phenomenon called Enrosadira.
For a meditative break, take the cable car to Rifugio Maria al Sass Pordoi at 2.950 m, an exceptional viewpoint on the Marmolada, Sassolungo, Ortles, Cevedale, Grossglockner and the mountains of Tyrol.

Those who are looking for natural wellbeing can’t miss the experience of taking a sauna at 2.200 m, on the terrace of Baita Cuz in Buffaure. And still, many mountain huts await you for lively evenings high up, where the air is really crisp.

Many refuges, mountain huts and refreshment bars in the Val di Fassa are open in winter, too. They are located directly on the ski slopes or can be reached on foot, with the snowshoes, by lifts, by snowmobile or snow cat. Some chalets also offer the possibility to ride downhill on a sledge.
