Why don’t you allow yourself a relaxing autumnal break in Val di Fassa to refill both body and mind? For you a whole weekend of cuddles, massages "balance" and detox treatments by Spas and thermal baths with view
The Ladin Museum and its detached sections guard precious treasures: a cultural trip along Val di Fassa from the stone age to nowadays. Not to miss are also the war exhibitions in Moena, at Fedaia and Pordoi passes
From September to November, Val di Fassa becomes tinged with the warm colours of autumn: the red sorb berries, the golden larches, the dark green pines, the crimson beech, ash and birch trees getting ready for the winter with a turquoise sky in the background. Discover autumn in Val di Fassa and its cloud-free days. Crisps mornings, brisk evenings and mild sunny afternoons characterise this time of the year in the Dolomites. The mild sunrays enlighten the summits and warm up the beautiful landscape with autumnal colours. From the mountain passes, such as Carezza, San Pellegrino, Fedaia, Sella and Pordoi, one can admire breath-taking views or take a low-level walk along many paths with rich, colourful foliage. Mild temperatures and clear days tempt hikers, horse riding lovers and bikers (see also: mountain refuges and lifts open) to venture in the mountain and enjoy the calm and the silence preceding the beginning of the winter season. Till October, golfers can improve their swing on the 9-hole course of the Golf Club Carezza, surrounded by the geometrical summits of the Catinaccio and the Latemar. The excellent flight conditions usually registered in Val di Fassa at the end of September and the beginning of October, favoured by a particular microclimate settled with high pressure, give endless emotions to the paragliding and hang gliding fans. In autumn dozens of sails hover in the air and paint with bright colours the sky above Campitello and Canazei.
Enjoy a relaxing walk in the villages and discover the artistic treasures in the valley: San Vigilio’s Church in Moena, San Giovanni’s Church in Vigo di Fassa, San Lorenzo’s Church in Pera, SS. Filippo and Giacomo’s Church in Campitello (whose Way of the Cross leads to the hamlet of "Pian"), San Floriano’s Church in Canazei. This is the ideal time of the year to visit the Museo Ladino, a modern exhibition with interactive monitors and multimedia equipment, which retraces the history of the thousand-year old Ladin people.
Val di Fassa also pampers you. The Terme Dolomia, the QC Terme Dolomiti, open all year round, the Aquapark Vidor in Pozza, the Centro Acquatico Dòlaondes in Canazei, open until September 19th, and the most exclusive hotel spas offer autumn spa treatment weekends for your relax and well-being, while gourmet restaurants tickle your palate with typical delicacies prepared with autumn foods.
