Excursions for the whole family to discover the Alpine pastures where the cattle graze peacefully and undisturbed, and to discover the high altitude mountain dairies where the cows are still milked following age-old procedures handed down through the generations, to make dairy products of the finest quality.
Around the mountain dairies "classic", medium-level excursion.
Meeting place: at 8.30 a.m. by the valley station of the Buffaure cabin lift in Pozza di Fassa.
Programme: we take the cabin lift up to Buffaure (2,060 m); from here we follow path no. 643 to the Malga Jumela (traditional mountain dairy), with a herd of cattle grazing on the surrounding Alpine pastures from June to September. Here the visit to the mountain dairy begins, accompanied by some explanations about the production of dairy products and some delicious tastings. Easy excursion in Val Jumela, before to return to the top station of the Buffaure cabin lift (path no. 643), in order to take it and reach our starting point.
Compulsory registration by the Tourist Offices of the valley within 6.30 p.m. of the previous day before with the Val di Fassa Card.
Fee: adults 12,00 €; children (between 7 and 14 years) 6,00 €. The fee must be paid at the time of enrolment and it includes a traditional products tasting.
Clothes and shoes suitable for mountain excursions required. Any transport service used in the excursion is to be paid directly by the participants. No transfer service is included.
