Fascinating geological history, fossils and minerals trapped in the rocks of Val di Fassa, real treasure chests filled with gems originating from different geological periods that can be apprecciated thank to workshops organised by scientists and collectors who, through direct observation, reveal the mineralogical secrets of the Dolomites.
Meeting point: at 5.00 p.m. at the Mineralogical Museum "Monzoni" in Vigo di Fassa.
Programme: introduction to the geological history of the Dolomites with a short presentation of the first scientific research projects carried out in the area; explanation of the main geological phenomena; hands-on description of the more interesting rock typologies and several types of fossils and local minerals; presentation of the best itineraries where to observe the many topics explained at the workshop.
Price: free activity, reserved to the guests of the accommodation facilities associated to the Tourist Board Val di Fassa.
Limited number of participants. Mandatory online reservation on the App Guest Card or with the paper card by the Tourist offices of the valley (by 6.30 p.m. on the previous day). Early booking is highly recommended.
