Thanks to its inclines and the perfect conditions of its slopes, the San Pellegrino ski area is one of the most appreciated locations by the Italian National Ski Team to refine the training of the athletes in view of the winter appointments as well as by other teams such as USA, Sweden, Finland, Slovenia, Slovakia and Germany. Think that this resort and the Ski Stadium Aloch in Pozza hosted the Alpine Skiing Junior World Championships in 2019, while in February 2021 the slope "La Volata" made his debut in the main international circuit, the World Cup, thanks to the assingment of three women races (two donwhill and a SuperG retrievals).
On Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st December, "La VolatA", top track in the ski district, is stage of two Women European Cup races, valid for the "Alberto Vendruscolo Memorial" prize. The best European young athletes will compete on this demanding slope at "Col Margherita" on a track 2,300 long, with 630 metres of altitude gap and a maximum incline of 57% that candidates as a race track for top athletes.
The European Cup is organised by the FIS (International Ski Federation) and, in terms of importance, it is second to the World Ski Cup only.
