Thanks to its inclines and the perfect conditions of its slopes, the San Pellegrino ski area is one of the most appreciated locations by the Italian National Ski Team to refine the training of the athletes in view of the World Cup as well as by other teams such as USA, Sweden, Finland, Slovenia, Slovakia and Germany.
On Thursday 19th and Friday 20th December, La Volata, top track in the Moena ski district, is stage of two Women European Cup races, valid for the "Alberto Vendruscolo Memorial" prize. The best European young athletes will compete on this demanding slope at Col Margherita on a track 2,300 long, with 630 metres of altitude gap and a maximum incline of 57% that candidates as a future race track for top athletes. In February 2019, moreover, here and at Ski Stadium "Aloch" in Pozza took place the Alpine Skiing Junior World Championships.
The European Cup is organised by the FIS (International Ski Federation) and, in terms of importance, it is second to the World Ski Cup only.
