Sounds of the Dolomites (I Suoni delle Dolomiti) is a unique high altitude music festival, which brings musicians from across the world to the most beautiful mountains of the Alps. The idea behind this initiative is simple and fascinating: combining the great passions for music and mountain, for art and environment, in a series of concerts in the sign of freedom and nature. The festival features internationally renowned artists. Organised by Trentino Marketing, in partnership with Val di Fassa Tourist Board.
Sounds of the Dolomites: Vittorio Ghielmi, Il Suonar Parlante Orchestra. Gipsy Baroque. Malga Colvere (Alpe Lusia - Moena), at 12.00 p.m.
Programme: the original project by Vittorio Ghielmi and his "Il Suonar Parlante Orchestra" is placed in a landscape that alternates between wooden huts and flowering meadows, on the way to Malga Canvere. Founded by Ghielmi and the Argentine singer Graciela Gibelli in 2007, when it consisted of the original set of violas da gamba players, "Il Suonar Parlante Orchestra" has performed in the world’s most prestigious concert halls. Regularly invited to play at the Berlin Philharmonic, Salzburg Festspiele and the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid, just to name a few, the orchestra performs a classical and historic repertoire alongside new, contemporary and innovative projects, using the technique that Paganini describes as "Suonar Parlante" (Talking Sound). The ensemble has mastered this art of reproducing the human voice with instruments to the extent that the album "Full of Colour" has been recognised by industry critics as "a revolution in the sound of historic instruments". To mark this event, they will revisit their Baroque repertoire with Gypsy style sounds.
How to get to the Malga Canvere:
On the day of the concert, it is possible to go on a paid hike accompanied by the local mountain guides: € 15 adults; free for children up to 8 years. 20% reduction for Trentino Guest Card holders. Mandatory reservation within 12.00 p.m. of the previous day (info: Tel. +39 0462 241111 – Tourist Office of Predazzo).
The concert is free. We suggest reaching the venue at least one hour before the scheduled time since, in case of uncertain weather conditions, the concert might be moved up.
In case of bad weather, the concert will take place at 5.30 p.m. at Palafiemme in Cavalese with mandatory reservation.
