From February 26th to 28th 2021, three Ski World Cup women races take place on the slope "La Volata" in the ski area San Pellegrino. We are speaking about the retrieval of the downhill and super-G races that have been cancelled in December in China and in St. Morizt, which make possible the debut of Val di Fassa in the Alpine Skiing most important international circuit. A long-awaited goal that arrives after the success in organizing several European Cup competitions - both on "La Volata" and at the Ski Stadium Aloch in Pozza (technical races) - and above all after the Alpine Skiing Junior World Ski Championship in 2019.
Just after the end of the World Championships in Cortina, so, Val di Fassa will be in the spotlight, with the training taking place on Wednesday, February 24th and on Thursday, February 25th, and going on with the first Super-G on Friday 26th (at 11.00 a.m.), the Downhill on Saturday, 27th and, finally, the second Super-G on Sunday, February 28th.
The valley has been home to the "Piste Azzurre" project for years, which means that in partnership with FISI several tracks are put ad disposal of the National Ski team (both men and women) and of important foreign champions and teams throughout the season, thanks to the local lift companies, to Dolomiti Superski and to the Tourist Board Val di Fassa as well as to other supporters.
