The floodlights of the Aloch Ski Stadium in Pozza di Fassa will be switched on for the evening of Monday 18th December for the European Cup Men’s Slalom race (two rounds), a trial that is valid for competing for the 7th "Elke Pastore Memorial" prize. Nowadays a fixed event on the calendar, the race will see the best emerging skiers flying out of the start gate, inspired by the ambition of reaching the top rankings. The specialists of the tight poles will be tested on the black run course of Pozza di Fassa, with its 220 metres drop and average inclination of 27%. The ideal stage for high level international competitions and an obligatory passage for those who aim to join the World Cup Circuit. Athletes will need to combine skill and technique on the difficult course that will test the talent of professional slalom skiers with increased difficulty at night. The European Cup of Alpine Skiing is organised by FIS (the International Ski Federation) and in terms of importance, it is second only to the World Ski Cup.
