Arrival: Rifugio Antermoia

Description of the stage: from Vigo di Fassa take the cable car up to Ciampedìe (1,998 m), which offers a magnificent view of the entire Vajolet Valley and the Dolomites of Val di Fassa. From here on path no. 540 you will get to the basin of Gardeccia (1,949 m). Continue on path no. 546 until you find the Preuss and Vajolet (2,243 m) refuges, with a view of the legendary Torri del Vajolet and the eastern wall of the Catinaccio. This is the heart of one of the best known Alpine climbing areas of all times, where the exploits of mountaineering pioneers such as Paul Preuss and Tita Piaz have become staff of legends.
Optional: from the Vajolet Refuge, the Re Alberto I Refuge (2,621 m) can be reached in about an hour along path no. 542, to admire the southern slopes of the Torri del Vajolet. Adding further 20 minutes from Re Alberto I Refuge, you can reach Passo Santner Refuge (2,734 m), where the view presents one the most beautiful sights nearby and far off: from the Latemar Group to the Weiss- and Schwarzhorn peaks, further to the Brenta Group, the Ortler and finally the Swiss- and Austrian Alps.
Come then back to the Vajolet and Preuss refuges on the same path and the itinerary continues north along path no. 584 which first shows the Vajolet Valley and then ends up in a steep stretch which takes to the Passo Principe Refuge (2,597 m). As you walk, the Catinaccio d’Antermoia mountain (3,002 m) becomes increasingly imposing.
From the Principe Pass and refuge go up on path no. 584 until the Antermoia Pass (2,770 m) to then flank the western slope of the Catinaccio d’Antermoia. Shortly after the pass, you will reach the Antermoia Refuge (2,497 m), where is foreseen the overnight stay. Total time with detour to the Passo Santner Refuge 6 hours (4 hours without variant).

Time: 4/5 hours; Difficulty: medium; Length: about 10 km; Max. ascent level difference: 419 m; Max. descent level difference: 635 m; Highest point: 2,530 m
Description of the stage: from the Antermoia Refuge, the path joins trail no. 580, which descends to the left in steep curves towards the Dona Pass (2,516 m) and then the Ciaréjoles Pass (2,282 m). Turn left into path no. 555 in order to descend into the Val Duron and then keep going up on path no. 532 until the Duron Pass (2,204 m). From the slope of the Val Duron you will follow path no. 4-594 along the Siusi crest, where a number of saddles along the way also open spectacular views of the Alpe di Siusi and the Odle from the opposite slope. Continuing on path no. 4-594 you will reach Sasso Piatto Refuge (2,300 m), where is foreseen the overnight stay.

Description of the stage: from Sasso Piatto Refuge start descending on path no. 527 and then turn right remaining always on the same path which later on will connect with paths no. 526 and afterwards no. 526/A, reaching first the "Piz di Uridl", then the catchment basin of the Sassolungo and afterwards the grassy saddle of "Piz Ciaulonch" that will lead to a labyrinth of rocks. From Comici Refuge (2,154 m) take path no. 526/C to a wide easy track through the "Città dei Sassi" (City of Stones). After this, walk in order to reach Sella Pass (2,180 m) and then continue towards Col Rodella (2,400 m), following first path no. 557 and then path no. 529. From Col Rodella take the cable car down to Campitello di Fassa and from here the bus to Vigo di Fassa (Trentino Trasporti Bus Line).
