After the ending of the Swiss edition in Davos, it is now time for the Ladin valley to prepare the next year edition that will take place from February 18 to 27, 2019.
One year to the Alpine Junior World Ski Championships in Val di Fassa: at the closing ceremony of the Junior World Championships 2018 in Davos, the Swiss athletes passed the baton to the Italian Team, symbolizing the beginning of the preparatory year before the next edition of the international event that will be hosted in Val di Fassa from February 18 to 27, 2019. Actually, the committee of the event, headed by Davide Moser together with the project manager Filippo Bazzanella and numerous members, has already been preparing the event since months. The committee of Val di Fassa 2019 has already been on the field, visiting the 2017 edition in Åre and in the latest days, in Davos, catching useful information, suggestions and crucial aspects during the event and leave a symbol of their visit with an ice statue sculptured by the students of the Soraperra artistic high school of Pozza di Fassa. « We stayed in Davos for a couple of days – says Bazzanella – participating to different groups and moments: the secretary with the race office, the accreditation office and other organizational aspects, the check and safety group, the chiefs technical aspects Cesare Pastore and Marco Costazza and a delegation of our board, represented by Renzo Minella and the local tourism, sport, youths politics, economy, trade and artisans assessor Matteo Iori, which handled to their Swiss colleagues wooden symbols realized by the artistic high school students. In addition, the students also realized two ice sculptures representing the Swiss and Italian events, symbols that have become popular among athletes, families and tourists».
After ending of the Swiss edition, now it is time for the Val di Fassa committee and the numerous volunteers to get even more focused on the event: « We are extremely focused – states Bazzanella – on the event. Even though it is a Junior event, we have to face numerous new organizational aspect. Moreover, we want this Junior Championships to be a quality event: not only sport, but also culture with the local Carnival, the traditions and national traits. We want this edition to be remembered, we are trying to create a friendly atmosphere and connect the different delegations, also we will give our best to communicate Val di Fassa and Trentino as locations of high level events, ready to welcome and host new challenges after the Junior Championships».
