On June 30 Graham Nash will perform in Val Duron, opening the 24th edition of the festival “I Suoni delle Dolomiti”.
The famous music festival in the mountains is back for its 24th edition starting with the first concert of the year in Val di Fassa. On June 30 (at 12.00) Graham Nash will open the summer season with an overture in Val Duron, close to Rifugio Micheluzzi: the artist has been performing with The Hollies and with the famous quartet CSN&Y, Crosby, Still, Nash and Young. In Val di Fassa, Nash will play with Shane Fontayne (guitar) and Todd Caldwell (keyboard) some tracks from his latest album “This Path Tonight” (2016). The second of the six events in Val di Fassa with “I Suoni delle Dolomiti” is among the most spectacular of the festival: “l’Alba delle Dolomiti” on July 14 at Col Margherita. Meeting point at 2500 meters at 6 a.m. to get ready to start the day with Maria Pia Devito and the Ensamble Burnogualà, which will perform the jazz version of the “Moresche” by Orlando di Lasso. On July 18 (at 12.00) the Israeli musician Avi Avital, who has played along international orchestra, will be performing by the Rifugio Contrin. On July 29 (at 12.00) at Rifugio Roda de Vael, a good old friend of the festival is back for another superb performance: Paolo Fresu. The local music band “Musega da Poza” directed by Marco Somadossi will play alongside the jazzist. The festival continues with Ferenc Snétberger and Tony Lakatos at the guitar and saxophone, whose concert will mix jazz, classic music and Brazilian melodies will take place on August10 (at 12.00) at the Bergvagabunden Hütte. “I Suoni” will end on August 28 in Val di Fassa (12.00) at Baita alle Cascate in Val San Nicolò, with the Ukranian “Dakhabrakha”, interesting musicians performing the typical melodies of East Europe.
