Val di Fassa hosts seven appointments with special artists, such as Neri Marcorè, Mario Brunello and Giovanni Sollima who celebrate the twenty-fifth anniversary of the festival that is able to masterfully connect music and the mountains of Trentino
An important programme that highlights its accomplishment of the twenty-five years is proposed this summer by "The Sounds of the Dolomites". Twenty-five appointments (same number of the years) in some of the most beautiful locations in the Dolomites. Among these, many are the stages at altitude in Val di Fassa, important partner of the festival since its very first edition.
In summer 2019 the Ladin valley will host 7 shows of this calendar that offers (free) concerts of different genres, performed by worldwide-known artists. And the festival will start exactly in Val di Fassa with the "Trekking of the Dolomites": from June 28th to June 30th, in fact, we will walk through the majestic groups of the Catinaccio and the Sassolungo, accompanied by the notes (during short exhibitions) of the cellist, composer, actor and filmmaker Giovanni Sollima and of Avi Avital, talented mandolinist from Israel. Both the artists, who have already performed at "The Sounds", seal the tour at altitude with the exhibition of June 30th (at 12.00 p.m.) on the green meadows of the Rifugio Micheluzzi in the so called Val Duron valley. Another important appointment is on July 20th at Col Margherita on San Pellegrino Pass (at 6.00 a.m.) for the "Dawn in the Dolomites" that celebrates the special project "Meanwhile let’s play" with a large group of actors and musicians: Neri Marcorè, Marco Rizzi, Regis Bringolf, Danilo Rossi, Mario Brunello, Florian Berner, Gabriele Ragghianti, Ivano Battiston, and Signum Saxophone Quartet will present "A century-long journey: music against war, humanity against brutality". On August 7th (at 12.00 p.m.) meet at Buffaure with the gipsy-jazz by "Joscho Stephan Trio". On August 28th (at 12.00 p.m.) the excellent violinist Lorenza Borrani performs with Ursina Braun on cello, Riikka Reppo on viola and Mats Zetterqvist on violin between the refuge Antermoia and the namesake lake. Then it is the time of the concert by "Trio in Uno", presenting a repertoire of Brazilian music with Pablo Schinke on the cello, José Ferreira on the seven-string guitar and Giulia Tamanini on saxophone, nearby the refuge Bergvagabunden Hütte on September 5th (at 12.00 p.m.). The programme of "The Sounds" in Val di Fassa concludes on September 14th at Ciampac (at 12.00 p.m.) with the performance by "Penguin Cafe", which is the pianist Arthur Jeffes who involves talented musicians in his project of "heavenly" music, such as Cass Browne, Neil Codlind, Oli Langford and Darren Berry.
