Main Services

If you want to spend a night in the mountains without sacrificing comfort, this is the refuge for you: the wardens have installed a Finnish sauna out on the terrace with its wonderful views. The Rifugio Baita Cuz is a very recent construction and in winter skiers can clip on their skis right outside the door and (from December 2015) make their way directly to the Sella Ronda via Val Jumela and Ciampac. Weather permitting, guests can enjoy our Ladin cuisine on the large terrace, the perfect place to sit and wait for the sun to set behind the Catinaccio/Rosengarten.OpenFrom 20 June to 20 September Before leaving for your hike, always contact the manager to verify the actual opening of the mountain hutWalksThe walk to Conca del Ciampac via Valle Jumela and Sella Brunec takes 2 ½ hours (difficulty EE). The Rifugio Passo San Nicolò can be reached from Sella Brunec following the Lino Pederiva protected path (it has a short, easy stretch with metal cable). Near the Baita Cuz is the end of the (difficult) “I magnifici 4” via ferrata, dedicated to the mountain rescue volunteers swept away by an avalanche in December 2009 during a rescue attempt (4 hours, difficulty EEA TD - very difficult).
