Buffaure ski area can be reached by taking a modern automatic coupling gondola from Pozza di Fassa. At the Buffaure ski and snowboard enthusiasts can have fun on about 23 km of pistes, almost all red, except for the impressive black one called "Vulcano". Inaugurated in winter 2014-15, this new exciting track enables ski pros to descend the Buffaure by facing a thrilling altitude drop of 566 m. For those who prefer more gentle slopes the so called "Panorama" (5 km long) is the ideal one to return to Pozza: starting from the 2,050 m of Refuge Buffaure, enjoying the breath taking view over the Monzoni and the "Maerins Towers", down to the beginning of Val San Nicolò and to the gondola’s departure station. The "hard to please skiers" are suggested to reach "Col de Valvacin", ascend the wild "Val Jumela" by chair lift and pass over the "Sella Brunéch" to get to the neighbour ski area Ciampac (Alba di Canazei).
Buffaure Snowpark is the right meeting point for freestylers, as it is equipped with jumps, rails and boxes, suited for riders of each skill.
Near the centre of Pozza, in the area called "Meida", the Aloch Ski stadium with its black slope gets brightly illuminated for skiing at night. It is a real ski stadium having a length of 1.600 m and an altitude drop 309 m, with an average gradient of 27% (49% maximum). "Aloch" piste hosts the Italian downhill ski team training sessions, many European Ski Cup competitions and top level winter sport events.
Pozza can boast an equipped field school for children at altitude, thanks to the construction of the new slope "Salvan" and to the replacement of the ski lift "Baby Buffaure" with modern conveyor belts (winter 2021-2022), in addition to a dedicated area for rubber dinghy rides (near Buffaure Refuge), accessible also to non-skiers.
Between Pozza and Pera then, the area "Ciancoal" is a meeting point for cross-country passionate skiers, with its 2 km long ski ring.

From the centre of Alba di Canazei the cableway "D-Line" takes skiers up to Ciampac in a very short time. Ciampac is a natural viewpoint over the mountain groups of Sassolungo, Sella and Marmolada, the so called "Queen of the Dolomites". The "Ciampac" is one of the most famous and exciting black slopes in Val di Fassa. It has been recently enlarged and improved becoming accessible also to less skilled skiers. It is a very technical run, about 2.2 km long and having an altitude drop of 660 m. It is definitely a sheer drop, starting from the hollow of Ciampac and descending to the village, dominated by the impressive "Colac" and by the volcanic "Crepa Neigra". Skiers can quickly glide along the pistes of Panorama Ski Tour leading to Pozza-Buffaure ski area. The tour offers the opportunity of skiing along many different slopes within Val di Fassa, starting from Vigo. Thanks to the lift connecting Alba to "Col dei Rossi", you can ski from Ciampac further to Belvedere, Col Rodella and enter the amazing Sellaronda, the most famous ski carousel in the whole Dolomiti Superski.
Ciampac is a very sunny ski resort and has a well-equipped baby park, and this is why it is the ideal place for families and for children, skiers and non-skiers.

Top ski slope: Aloch (Pozza di Fassa). The Aloch has an average grade of 27% (a maximum one of 49%), an altitude gap of 309 m, a length of 1.6 km and hosts the official coaching sessions of Italian Alpine Skiing Team, as well as many World Championship competitions (Junior World Ski Championships in 2019). Beside this, it provides you with the opportunity to experience the thrill of skiing by night, from December till the end of March, every Wednesday and Friday from 7.30 p.m. to 10.00 p.m. The ski run is located right at the feet of the majestic "Cima Dodici", in central position and equipped with a 3-seater chair lift. The "Aloch" really requires concentration and due to its very steep slopes and natural humps, it definitely leaves no room to distraction from the beginning till the end.
Top ski slope: Vulcano (Buffaure - Pozza di Fassa). Freshly inaugurated in December 2014, the "Vulcano" ski slope at Buffaure absolutely deserves the title of "explosive ski run". It shares the initial part with the red sister slope called "Panorama", then it turns to the right and takes an amazing 2 km long direct line, dizzyingly diving down the mountain slope and covering an altitude gap of 566 m, quickly leading skiers to the gondola’s departure in "Meida". The track starts from 1,920 m asl at Buffaure, it is technically demanding and especially designed for expert skiers, who want to put themselves to the test on a very breathtaking run, characterized by exciting steep slopes. The "Vulcano" has an average grade of 30% and reaches a maximum of 58%.
Top ski slope: Ciampac (Alba di Canazei). It is a tough black slope, which in 2014 has been enlarged reaching a width of 40 m. A panoramic cable car carries you from the hamlet of Alba to the hollow of Ciampacin a couple of minutes. Once you get off the cabin lift, you will get immediately fascinated by the spectacular view on breathtaking Dolomites massifs, such as Sella, Sassolungo and Marmolada. You will then face a 2.2 km long slope, covering an altitude gap of 660 m and putting even most trained legs under pressure through a series of dizzying declivities. The final part softens into a wide, gentle bend crossing the wood before the final "schuss".
