A real biker never stops cycling, not even in winter, when he only changes vehicle, choosing a bike with oversized tires (which measure 3,7 inches at least, run at low pressure and are studded to ensure the maximum grip on the snow) and specific characteristics, like the front suspension fork, to be more stable on snow and ice.
Having been first tested on the sand of Sahara and then in Alaska, the "fatties", as they are called by the aficionados, have become true now even in Val di Fassa: an alternative to skiing and snowshoes, rigorously "green", to enjoy a day off from the slopes, in the middle of the nature, up and down on paths covered in snow, but without sinking. In Val di Fassa, at the foot the Dolomites, Unesco World Heritage Site, you can get on your bike and face the dedicated beaten tracks, in areas that do not interfere with the skiing, mainly on forest roads that lead to real havens at 2,000 metres: Val Duron, Val Contrin (according to the period), Gardeccia, Val San Nicolò and Val Monzoni. The experience of floating on the snow is within most people’s reach, you just need to have trained legs, stamina and a bit of familiarity with the bike. Thanks to the "push" given by the electric engine even the steepest slopes become easy to cover. Fat e-bikes excursions are available only with a bike guide.
