Description path 2/h: go up into the Val San Nicolò; from the Cappella Crocifisso (Crucifix Chapel) turn left and walk along a well-marked path until you will leave the wood behind you and reach the place called "Saùch". Keep on walking for 40 minutes along a paved road until you get to Baita Ciampié (1,826 m). From here continue on a dirt road, slightly more demanding than the previous one. Overlook the minor paths on the left and on the right of the main road. Pass through the wood (on the left you will see a First World War memorial) and walk for further 500 m until you reach a stony ground. Cross the riverbed of the "Giaf", a brook that floods dangerously in case of summer storms. Enter a sparse wood of larches and pass a short ascent. The valley will then open up to a view of green luxuriant fields, enchanting wooden chalets, the mountain chain of "Costabella" and the "Col Ombert". The trail leads gently up to Baita alle Cascate (2,011 m). You can return along the same itinerary, or, shortly before reaching Baita Ciampiè, catch the so called "Road of Russian" leading to the area of "Saùch".
The walk is also suited to trekking strollers. Paved road till Baita Ciampiè. Alternatives: access from Pozza by the convenient pay taxi service (train on rubber or shuttle bus that operate only in the summer).
