Description: in the middle of Val di Fassa is the home of King Laurin. Here the legendary sovereign created his rose garden. The Catinaccio Rosen- garten is now a UNESCO heritage site. In the summertime it is a fairy tale land of meadows and rocks, well worth exploring, starting from the panoramic Ciampedže. A modern cable car takes you directly from Vigo di Fassa, and in 3 minutes you reach 2,000m, where there is a 360į view of the Catinaccio, and the Sella groups, the Marmolada, Buffaure, and the Monzoni. Ciampedže itself is a splendid natural play area for children, and is the starting point for walks and hikes of various difficulty. In the winter, the mountains are, of course, dusted with snow, and Ciampedže is at the heart of an exciting ski area, with famous runs named after ski champions ThŲni and Tomba.
