Getting to the top of the Dolomites is easier than ever from this summer, thanks to the new card that combines the advantages of both "PanoramaPass" and "Val di Fassa Card", to give you the chance to live as never before unforgettable events at altitude and to experience hike and bike excursions
The Dolomites, Unesco World Heritage, are real wonders of the world. And it is with their great beauty that Val di Fassa welcomes its guests, as well as with this year big news, that makes the peaks, from Sella to Sassolungo, to the Marmolada easy to reach, thanks to the big number of available mountain lifts and to the transport means: the appreciated Panorama Pass – the card for (against payment) the unlimited use of the mountain lifts – and Val di Fassa Card, which offers many initiatives, activities and discounts to those who choose a hotel, apartment or camping site associated to Val di Fassa Tourist Board for their holiday, join into a unique card given by the owner of the accommodation to all the guests, at the moment of their arrival. So you just need to activate the card – by the tourist offices, the cash desks of the lifts or by the Sport Check Point offices – according to your desires and to the duration of your holiday and then start your extraordinary travel around the peaks of Val di Fassa.
And it really makes it worth to go up, because during the warm season many location at altitude, become stage for prestigious Art and culture shows and sport events: Several concerts of “The Sounds of the Dolomites”, from June 30 to August 28, are scheduled in Val di Fassa, starting with Graham Nash, who in Val Duron will launch this edition of the successful festival that brings international musician and interpreters to perform inside wonderful sceneries all around Trentino. But summer i salso enlivened by many other events, such as Val di Fassa Panorama Music, the music festival that takes place in locations reachable by lifts, as well as the most appreciated folk events like the Festa ta Mont in Pozza and in Val San Nicolò (3-5 August) that for the first time combines with Latte in festa, a whole week (July 29 – August 5) of events dedicated to dairy products, or the Gran festa da d’istà in Canazei (September 6-9), that gathers all the Ladins from the valleys around the Sella Massif, with a final parade in traditional costumes.
Val di Fassa is also a open air gym and it’s naturally location for big sport events, such as the training camp of the Italian soccer team ACF Fiorentina, from 7th to 22nd July in Moena, or the newest Dolomyths Run 14-22 July), a week of mountain running competitions, valid for the Skyrunning and Vertical Kilometer world championship, or again the series of events dedicated to the bikes, like the Sellaronda Bike Day (June 23), Sellaronda Hero - Südtirol Dolomites (June 18), Superenduro Mtb (June 24) and the Maratona dles Dolomites (July 1).
There is no doubt, the great protagonists of the summer season in Val di Fassa, according to everyone’s passion and training, are trekking and excursions of various difficulty, with 2240 km of legendary paths, among which the proposals of the Dolomiti Panorama Trek, and bike and mountain bike experiences. Two wheels lovers can choose among numerous MTB itineraries, from the Sellaronda (clockwise and counterclockwise, like its winter version on the skis), to the most reckless gravity tracks, the road itineraries on the footprints of the bike myths, to the Dolomites cycling route, ideal for children and families, thanks to the Bike Express Fassa e Fiemme, the shuttle (with bike trailer) that serves the slope with several runs during the day.
And after many open air activities, there’s nothing better than some cuddles in the water of the source Aloch in Pozza di Fassa by QC Terme Dolomiti, and the specialties of the local food culture that on July 6 and 7 will be protagonist of a new and important festival, the "Dolomites Top of the Chefs - food and Trentodoc days in Val di Fassa".
