From February 8 to 10, Moena becomes the field of the "Mizuno Snow Volley Marathon", which gathers on the snow the passionate fans of this new winter discipline and the music of Radio Deejay
Find somebody that has never had fun by playing volleyball with snowballs. It’s maybe this light-hearted amusement, which connects both children and snow and mountain addicted, that inspires this new discipline, ready to land in Val di Fassa: the "Mizuno Snow Volley Marathon" takes place in Moena from Friday, February 8 to Sunday, 10. It is the first edition of an event that gathers professionals and fans of the winter version of volleyball, inspired to the summer format in the sand (from which it takes the rules too): "beach volley". In particular, this event recalls the "Mizuno Beach Volley Marathon", which has been taking place in Bibione (VE) for 23 years. The tournament, to which 150 teams have already enrolled (most coming from Lombardy, Emilia Romagna, Veneto and Piedmont), and which will surely summon more teams (the enrolments will go on until the end of January), offer several challenges that will take place in the sport centre C. Benatti in Moena – which hosts the training camp of the ACF Fiorentina soccer team in summer, before the beginning of the season – where several fields will be located. Men and Ladies 2x2 and 3x3 challenges will take place on Friday and on Saturday. The matches take place simultaneously and this means a lot of fun for the public, which can follow the tournament set after set until Sunday, day of the mixed 4x4 challenges. The happening of Moena is also part of the "Acqua San Bernardo Snow Volley Tour" by Snow Volley Italia (at its 5th edition), insomuch that the participants of the women and men 3x3 categories can earn points valid for the Italian ranking that assign the title of "King and Queen of the snow". Moreover, the snow volley is protagonist of the Deejay Xmasters that follow the most original winter sports with a special Winter Tour and even an Xmasters Village on the slopes of San Pellegrino Pass, few kilometres far from Moena – heart of the entertainment and of the week-end soundtrack by Radio Deejay. In the nearest of the Snow Volley Marathon, there is even a Truck Jeep, to experience some thrilling off-road tests, and the Big Air Bag, onto which pro-riders will jump and perform in breath-taking tricks. And on Friday the après ski will be enlivened by Mistericky, DJ of "The concert" with DJ Set by BigTommy, resident DJ of the best clubs in Formentera and Palma di Maiorca. On Saturday, instead, the party goes on with Francesco Sortino, alias DJ Shorty, straight from the programme "Albertino Everyday", who launches his new single "Boomerang" at Mizuno Snow Volley Marathon – with Divan, rising star of the Cuban music, and Ky-Mani Marley, Bob Marley’s son and interpreter of the Jamaican music – already announced as next months catchphrase.
