Meeting point: at 9.00 a.m. by the Refuge E. Castiglioni Marmolada on the Fedaia Pass, briefing about the itinerary.
Route: Fedaia Pass - "Gran Poz" - "Col dal baranchie" - Refuge Pian dei Fiacconi - Fedaia Pass. Difficulty: medium-difficult. Children from 12 years old. Altitude gap: 600 m.
Programme: from the bottom station of the lift (closed) take path no. 606, descend along a short stretch along the "Canale di Gronda" and then go up quickly along the slope towards the hollow of "Gran Poz", where there was once a vast field of barracks, destroyed by the avalanche of 13th December 1916, which killed more than 300 people and which is remembered as the biggest tragedy of the Marmolada war front. Back on the path, you will reach the hill "Col dal baranchie" and along path no. 619 you will reach a suggestive canyon made by the glacial erosion, constituted by a series of potholes. Back again on the "Col dal baranchie", follow the footprints of an old mule road, with the help of an iron rope on some stretches, go till the crossroad with path no. 606. Face the last ascent to the Refuge Pian dei Fiacconi. Come back along path no. 606, that goes down to the saddle "Col di bousc" through gravels and rocky plaques. Go on facing the steep slope to reach the refuges at the limit of the Fedaia dam.
Compulsory registration by the Tourist Offices of the valley within 6.30 p.m. of the previous day with the Val di Fassa Guest Card. Limited number of places.
Clothes and shoes suitable for mountain excursions required. Any transport service used in the excursion is to be paid directly by the participants. No transfer service is included. Lunch at special price by the refuge (€ 18).
The outdoor activities will take place in total respect of the regional regulations and the hygienic-sanitary indications, in order to contain the spread of COVID-19.
