Programme: "La Sia", a piston Venetian water sawmill used to cut the wood, is located in Penìa di Canazei and it is the last one still existing in Val di Fassa. According to the documents, it dates back to the XVI century, even if the nowadays' structure dates back to 1922. The 1985-1988’s renovation put this mechanical engineering jewel back in motion, insomuch that it can still be used by the inhabitants. During the guided visit, it will be possible to witness a practical demonstration of the job done by the sawyer and to know more about the management of the wood.
Timetables: on Mondays at 11.00 a.m. (duration about 45 mins).
Activity with limited number of participants, minimum 4, maximum 10 people. Mandatory phone reservation at the Ladin Museum by the previous day at 6.30 p.m. Phone +39 0462 760182. Without the minimum number of participants, the guided visit will be cancelled. In case of cancellation, the participants will be called within 7.00 p.m. on the previous day.
