Women’s downhill and Super G on the "La VolatA" slope at San Pellegrino Pass, which will also host the Ski World Cup in February
Thanks to its inclines and the perfect preparation of its slopes, the San Pellegrino ski area is one of the most appreciated locations by the Italian National Ski Team to refine the training of the athletes in view of the winter appointments as well as by other teams such as USA, Sweden, Finland, Slovenia, Slovakia and Germany. Think that this resort and the Ski Stadium "Aloch" in Pozza hosted the Alpine Skiing Junior World Championships in 2019, while in February 2021 the slope "La VolatA" made his debut in the main international circuit thanks to the assingment of three women races (two donwhill and a Super G retrievals). On 24 and 25 February 2024, on the strength of local expertise and past experience, the ski area is ready to once again host the World Cup with no less than two Super Gs for the women jets of international skiing.
Awaiting the February appointment, on Wednesday 20, Thursday 21 and Friday 22 December, "La VolatA", the flagship track of the Skiarea San Pellegrino, is the scene of the fast women's disciplines of the European Cup (two downhill and one Super G), valid for the awarding of the "Memorial Alberto Vendruscolo". The best European young athletes will battle it out along the 2350 metres of the adrenaline-filled "Col Margherita" slope, which with its 830 metres of altitude difference and a maximum gradient of 47% is a candidate as one of the best competition fields for top athletes.
