An electric and unpredictable live performance that traverses Zappa's genius with energy, irony and virtuosity
There is a kind of music that cannot be tamed: it changes form, provokes, surprises, and enjoys blurring the boundaries between rock, jazz, experimentation, and theatre. It is the music of Frank Zappa, and in this concert it comes to life in a powerful and nuanced musical journey. The Dan Martinazzi Band offers a passionate and personal interpretation of Zappa's repertoire, created by musicians who have been attentive listeners at different times and who understand its complexity and irony. The set list spans several phases of his production, from the 1960s to the 1980s, including iconic songs, sudden changes of rhythm, visionary atmospheres and moments of pure musical madness. A tribute that is not imitation, but a lively reinterpretation, made of sound, energy and freedom: because Zappa is not celebrated, he is interpreted - and every note is an invitation to let yourself be surprised.
Line-up: Dan Martinazzi (band leader, guitar and vocals), Diego Spagnoli (synth, effects, madness and vocals), Roberto Zecchinelli (bass), Cesare Valbusa (drums).
