For the traditional summer music festival, the "Negritella" male even-voice choir, that takes his name from a mountain flower, performs in the village square
Traditional mountain songs inspired by the grandiose Alpine landscapes, glaciers, forests and legends of the Dolomites. Every Thursday evening, we will be able to listen to pieces skilfully performed by local choral groups, who will entertain us in an exciting concert, sure to be appreciated by valley dwellers and tourists alike. On 31 Juli, at 9.15 p.m., the "Negritella" Choir from Predazzo will perform in the square in front of the tourist office in Vigo.
The "Negritella" Choir from Predazzo is one of the most authentic expressions of cultural association and folk singing in the Trentino valleys. Founded in 1954, it has been a witness and guardian of mountain choral tradition for decades, keeping alive a precious part of Alpine musical identity. Throughout its long history, the male choir has participated in important regional festivals and competitions, distinguishing itself also on an international level: from the Miskolc Opera Festival in Hungary to concerts in Budapest, Barcelona, Montpellier, in various German locations, and in evocative settings such as the Postojna and Castellana caves. The choir has also taken its music to Carrara, Aosta, Genoa, Oristano and numerous other Italian cities. Since 2008, it has been directed with enthusiasm and skill by Maestro Renato Deflorian, under whose guidance the thirty choristers offer a rich repertoire of mountain songs and popular melodies from Trentino, sensitively reworked with new harmonisations written especially for the Fiemme ensemble. Each performance by the Coro Negritella is a tribute to the musical heritage of the region, a way of sharing its value and renewing its emotion, carrying the voice of the Dolomites far beyond the borders of the valley.
The concert is free of charge. In case of bad weather at the events pavilion in front of Hotel Vael.
