The Rifugio Passo Principe was rebuilt (piece by piece) in 2008 entirely out of wood by a father and son team (both mountain guides). They will be happy to accompany you along the footpaths, via ferratas and mountain routes of the Catinaccio and help you discover its secrets. But you don’t need to have ambitions to be a rock climber to appreciate the sweeping views, colours and starry skies that can ... be enjoyed from this small but friendly refuge (often open in winter, too) that Sergio and Daniele Rosi “set” into the rock of this dolomitic group like a precious stone.
