On one side the Sella Group, on the other the Marmolada and the Gran Vernel: the Rifugio Fredarola enjoys a strategic position, whether it’s winter (it's right on the Sella Ronda circuit) or summer (the famous Viel dal Pan path begins here). Whatever the season, if you decide to make a stop at this refuge on the Col de Cuch (beneath Sass Becè), take a seat at a table before the big south-facing window ... (from where you can see the Marmolada glacier) and you’ll understand why this place is called “Belvedere”. Open From 20 June to 20 September From December to April Before leaving for your hike, always contact the manager to verify the actual opening of the mountain hut Walks A 1 ½ hour walk on the easy Viel Dal Pan path (once used by Belluno flour traders to get to the Val di Fassa) will take you to the refuge of the same name. From there you can continue to Passo Fedaia (1 ½ hours) or - maintaining altitude - take the Via Ferrata delle Trincee to Passo Padon, following the Great War front line (3 hours, difficulty EEA).
