Every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, the cable car transfer from Alba di Canazei to "Col dei Rossi" is accompanied by a local expert from the Val di Fassa "CAI" section (Italian Alpine Club). Who better than a local can tell you about the beauty of the Dolomites that can be admired on the way up to the summit and provide advice on hikes, refuges, and natural attractions not to be missed? An activity suitable for everyone, enriched by anecdotes and insights into the history, geography and legends of the valley, which seem to come to life here among the peaks and the silence of the high mountains.
The cable car, in operation since 2015, is a jewel of technology from the Doppelmayr/Garaventa group, a world leader in the construction of transport systems. It is 2,260 metres long, covers a difference in height of 883 metres (average gradient of 42%) at a speed of 12 m/s with an hourly capacity of 1,120 people (2 cars with 100 seats each).
