As part of the "Music bands at altitude" initiative, concert by the Levico Terme town band
The mountains become a stage, the band the soundtrack. "Bande in vetta" is back, the festival that brings Trentino bands to alpine refuges for an experience of walking, music and nature. From 22 June to 28 September 2025, every Sunday morning, a mountain refuge will host an open-air concert: brass and woodwind instruments will blend with the sounds of the forest, the peaks and the silence. Walk, listen, breathe: this is the invitation that accompanies this year's event, promoted by the Federation of Bands in collaboration with the Trentino Mountain Huts and with the support of the Autonomous Province of Trento. Folk music, soundtracks and original repertoires will accompany hikers until early afternoon, for a slow-paced encounter between culture and landscape.
On Sunday 14 September from 10:30 a.m. to early afternoon at the Salei Rifugio, concert by the Levico Terme town band. The refuge can be reached on foot from Passo Sella or by cable car from Pian de Frataces (Lupo Bianco).
With over 180 years of history, the Levico Terme town band is one of the oldest musical ensembles in Trentino. Witness to wars, rebirths and generational changes, it became a town institution in 2003 and a "Historical Group of National Interest". It has collaborated with the S. Pio X choir and hosted memorable concerts with a sacred and operatic repertoire. It has represented the town in Italy and abroad (Austria, Germany, France, Hungary and Sicily). Since 2003, it has been conducted by maestro Giuseppe Calvino. Today, it boasts a multi-generational membership and strong ties with the community, renewed in 2024 with the election of its new president, Gianni Sbetti.
