Starting from the the St. Nicholas church, the Cavalese music band parades along the main road, which is closed to traffic, until it reaches the events pavilion, where it performs a selection of the most beautiful traditional and modern pieces from its repertoire
The Cavalese brass band is a cultural pillar of the Val di Fiemme. Founded around 1820, it has lived through wars and rebirths, bringing its music to the squares of Trentino, Italy and the world, from Brazil to Austria. Today, under the direction of Maestro Fabio Turra, the band continues to enchant audiences with a repertoire ranging from traditional marches to contemporary compositions. In 2020, it celebrated its 200th anniversary, a rare achievement that testifies to its deep connection with the community and the strength of a tradition that continues to renew itself. With a spirit open to change, in 2021 Cecilia Trettel became the first female president in the association's history, marking an important step towards greater inclusivity. During performances, the musicians proudly wear traditional costumes in warm shades of red, dark green and white, making each concert a visual as well as a musical experience. In recent years, the band has participated in prestigious national and international competitions, winning awards and applause. It has collaborated with internationally renowned soloists, from Marco Pierobon (Orchestra Mozart) to Angelo Cavarra, and performed world premieres by contemporary composers, including Joe Schittino. A journey of passion and research, which leads it to explore new sounds without ever losing its popular spirit. With 40 musicians, a flag bearer, a drum major, six assistants and around thirty students, the Cavalese band is today one of the most active and long-standing musical ensembles in Trentino: a living voice of its land, to be listened to... at full blast.
In case of bad weather, only the concert will be held in the events pavilion.
