Exciting a cappella concert, where Christmas melodies and sacred songs will resound through the aisles of the San Vigilio parish church
Canticum Novum is a mixed a cappella choir founded in Moena in 1993, a constellation of voices from the Fiemme and Fassa valleys that, concert after concert, has turned its story into a rich and multifaceted musical journey. Under the direction of Maestro Ilario Defrancesco, the ensemble has carried its music to squares and theatres across Italy and beyond, sharing harmonies that speak of roots, identity and encounter. Over time, a new thread has woven itself into the sacred repertoire: the colours of ethnic sounds, traditional songs from distant cultures blending with the breath of the Dolomites. Alongside these explorations, the choir preserves and renews the melodies of home: the works of Luigi Canori from Moena, Father Frumenzio Ghetta and Stefano Dell'Antonio "Monech", set to music by the conductor himself, together with newly composed contemporary pieces in the Ladin language.
This is how Canticum Novum continues its path: searching, intertwining, listening - and offering the public a harmony that carries the scent of tradition and the promise of what is yet to come.
Free admission.
