Voices in unison, emotions and mountains: the Coronelle Choir of Cavalese, in Val di Fiemme, tells its story of tradition and new harmonies
The "Coronelle" male choir from Cavalese was founded in 1962 by Mario Bellante and a group of mountain singing enthusiasts. Initially inspired by the repertoire of the SAT (Società Alpina Trentina) choir, it gradually broadened its musical horizons, participating in competitions, tours and prestigious collaborations both in Italy and abroad. Among its most significant experiences are its participation in the "I Suoni delle Dolomiti" festival with the "Filarmonici" and Giovanni Sollima, its performance at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome with Andrea Bocelli and Alexia, and the opera "Variante di Luneburg" with Milva and Walter Mramor. The choir's repertoire is documented in several recordings, including an album dedicated to mountain spirituality that contains the Inno al Cristo Pensante delle Dolomiti (Hymn to the Thinking Christ of the Dolomites), the famous statue located on the summit of Mount Castelaz, in front of the Pale di San Martino. After being conducted by its founder and then by his son Antonio Bellante, since 2008 the choir has been led by Maestro Leonardo Sonn, who passionately continues the Trentino choral tradition, opening it up to new artistic influences.
At 9.15 p.m. in the multi-purpose hall of the "La Gran Ciasa" community building in Soraga (tourist office). Admission free.
