There is something deeply authentic about mountain village festivals. The festival tent put up by volunteers, the band playing in the square, the parades through the streets, the aromas of traditional food and the people gathering together. In Moena, all this has a specific name: Sèn Vile, the festival dedicated to Saint Vigilius, patron saint of the village and of Trento, organised for generations by the Moena Town Band with the support of local associations and institutions.
This year, however, the tradition is growing into something even bigger. Thus was born the Dolomites Music Festival: a new event turning Moena into a meeting point for Alpine cultures, Blasmusik, folklore and conviviality. Five festive days, from 25 to 28 June and on 4 July, featuring concerts, parades, folk groups, live shows and traditional food under the large festival tent at the C. Benatti sports ground, at the entrance to the village. From Trentino bands to international groups, from Slovenia to Bavaria, via Veneto and Piedmont, the festival brings different sounds, traditions and stories to the Dolomites of Val di Fassa, united by the same spirit: sharing, belonging and love for the mountains. Music becomes the common language of a community that welcomes, tells its story and brings generations together through respect and friendship.
