The alphorn, Alpine tradition and surprising forays into the music of every era
The Dolomiti Horn Quartet is an ensemble from Trentino comprising four professional musicians - Nicola Ravelli, Stefano Rossi, Martino Bortolotti and Marcello Sani - who have performed with leading Italian orchestras. A distinctive feature of the group is the interplay between the modern horn and the alphorn, an instrument symbolic of Alpine culture, which lends the concert a unique and instantly recognisable sound. Their repertoire spans different genres and eras: from traditional mountain melodies and folk-inspired pieces to works of classical, Baroque and contemporary music, whilst also venturing into the worlds of film soundtracks, swing and blues. As much-loved guests at the Vigo di Fassa summer music festival, the four musicians present a refined and original concert that showcases the many expressive possibilities of an unusual instrument that never fails to capture the audience's attention.
At 9.15 pm by the square in front of the tourist office in Vigo. In case of bad weather the event will take place by the events pavillion in front of the Hotel Vael. Free entry.
