The legends of the Dolomites are transformed into images, colours and symbols in this exhibition dedicated to the Ladin artist ROTT (Luigi "Lois" Rottonara), originally from La Villa in Badia.
A versatile painter and sculptor of international renown, who has featured in major exhibitions in Italy and abroad, ROTT has made the legends of the Dolomites one of the main sources of inspiration for his artistic practice. His works, characterised by simple yet highly evocative figures - often dedicated to the female world, horses and fashion - reinterpret the Ladin cultural heritage with a personal and instantly recognisable style. The canvases inspired by the Kingdom of Fanes and Princess Dolasila, previously exhibited in prestigious venues such as the Venice Biennale, the MART and the Milan-Cortina 2026 Cultural Olympics, are now on display at the "Tobià de Val", an old barn converted into a studio and exhibition space thanks to the efforts of Ferdinando Brunel, president of the Union of Ladins of Fassa.
The exhibition, open daily from 4 pm to 7 pm, also pays tribute to the tradition of legends and storytellers of the Val di Fassa, offering a contemporary reinterpretation of a cultural heritage that continues to resonate today.
Admission is free. The exhibition is easily accessible on foot from the centre of Vigo. Parking is recommended near the events pavilion.
