"Gries" hamlet festival with Holy Mass, concert by the village band and lunch in the park
According to historians, this festival has been celebrated in the valley since at least 5 August 1787 (and perhaps even earlier), when the small church of the Madonna della Neve in Gries became a pilgrimage destination in place of the sanctuary at Pietralba, in the province of Bolzano, due to the closure imposed on the faithful by Emperor Joseph II.
Even after the reopening of the Pietralba sanctuary, the 5 August celebration has remained a cherished event for the community and continues to be observed with great enthusiasm to this day.
The day begins at 10:30 am with Holy Mass, followed by a procession led by the folk group and the Mùsega Auta Fascia band towards Fassa Park. From 12:30 pm, in the "Ciuch" area, visitors can enjoy a traditional lunch accompanied by music and performances from the groups present, who will liven up the afternoon.
