Wooden huts, festive scents and heart-warming lights: Canazei's public park turns into a dream-like Christmas village
Once again this year, Canazei dresses up in magic to welcome its Christmas Market - an event filled with tradition, decorations and sweet emotions. Not in the square, but in the public park, just a stone's throw from the town centre, where the natural setting already creates a truly special atmosphere.
But why the name "Maitin"? "Maitin" is the Ladin word for for Christmas Eve Mass - that special moment when children eagerly await the arrival of the Baby Jesus and his gifts. It's this spirit of anticipation, wonder and togetherness that fills the market: a place where the aromas of mulled wine and homemade sweets mingle with people's smiles as they warm up beside the glowing braziers. Here you'll find gift ideas, handcrafted items and delicious local treats.
