Evening stroll in Pera with open-air concerts by brass band, folk and rock-pop groups
Harmony fills the municipality of San Giovanni, specifically in Pera, where Strada Jumela will be closed to traffic for the "Musciatando" event, hosting open-air concerts by bands, folk groups and rock-pop bands.
The name of the event, "Musciatando", derives from the Ladin word "Musac", a reference to the good-natured character of the inhabitants of Pera and the Rizzi family, who once transported stones with donkeys. This is where the historical nickname given to the residents of the hamlet comes from: "Musac", meaning donkeys.
Pera is a place rich in history. Its name recalls the large boulder that fell in ancient times, while the Rizzi hotel - one of the first accommodation facilities in the valley - was a post station, salt warehouse and home to mountaineering pioneers and illustrious guests in the 19th century, including the Belgian royal family and Enrico Fermi. The upper part of the village is also worth a visit, with its rustic houses, barns and wooden balconies that tell the story of life in times gone by. For the occasion, the water mill ("Molin de Pezol"), part of the Ladin Museum of Fassa, will be open to the public. This is a rare example of the centuries-old local milling industry, where you can discover the history of the mill and its original mechanisms. Even the little ones will find something to enjoy thanks to the activities organised by the "Bambi" association. And to make the evening even sweeter, the volunteers from Pera and Pozza will be preparing irresistible "fortaes" or Strauben, traditional Ladin fried pastries.
In case of bad weather, only the concert by the Musega de Poza brass band will take place in the events pavilion in Pozza. Admission is free.
