Traditional end-of-year torchlight procession at sunset, with ski instructors descending the "Le Coste" slope
On the San Pellegrino Pass in the Dolomites, New Year's Eve is celebrated with a spectacle that combines nature, sport and tradition. When the sun sets and the "Enrosadira" (Alpenglow) tinges the peaks of Costabella and Col Margherita with red, the sky lights up with spectacular colours. In this hushed setting, the instructors of the Italian Ski & Snowboard School Moena Dolomiti become the protagonists of an evocative descent by torchlight.
At 5.30 p.m., along the "Le Coste" slope, the procession of skiers leaves a trail of light on the snow, while the rustle of the skis and the soft rhythm of the groomed snow accompany the coming of evening. A special occasion for skiers and non-skiers alike, who can watch the show from the start of the "Gigante" chairlift, sharing the excitement of a symbolic transition between the old and new year under the starry sky of the Dolomites.
