A journey through the world of milk, from the very first drop to the final tasting, reconnecting with age-old gestures and timeless traditions
Where time moves slowly and the air smells of hay, there is a world waiting to be discovered through all your senses. In the mountain dairy, every gesture carries the flavour of simplicity: you follow the rhythms of nature, listen to the sounds of the farm, and learn by observing and doing. In this immersive experience, Mrs Lucia welcomes you for a day in the life of a true dairy farmer. It begins with caring for the animals - brushing the cows and collecting fresh eggs from the henhouse - before moving on to milking and transforming fresh milk into cheese. Under curious hands and amazed eyes, the cheese slowly takes shape, while golden fritters cook gently, filling the air with the comforting aromas of home. An invitation to experience the mountains with calm and authenticity, rediscovering simple gestures that speak of deep bonds with the land, genuine flavours and the joy of sharing.
Schedule and meeting point: every Thursday from 10.30 am to 12 pm at the Malga Jumela. The facility can be reached by an easy walk downhill from Buffaure in about 40 minutes (return uphill). Buffaure can be reached by gondola from Pozza. Activity suitable for children of at least 3 years of age. Difficulty level: easy; no trekking strollers. Comfortable clothing and sports shoes are recommended.
Price: 5 € per person, payable directly on site. Booking required by calling +39 348 9301215 after 4 pm, no later than the day before the activity. Ticket for the lift and any packed lunch or lunch at the mountain hut to be paid for by participants. Panorama Pass and Dolomiti Supersummer are valid for the gondola. Activity cancelled in case of bad weather.
