There are moments when the mountains change their rhythm. The paths empty out and that authentic silence returns to Alpe Lusia, reminiscent of a summer evening at high altitude. On one of the gondola's final trips, we ascend with our mountain guide to Le Cune, a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the Pale di San Martino. From up there, the view stretches far into the distance, between the peaks bathed in the warm light of the sunset and the pastures slowly taking on the colours of the evening. The journey continues on foot to the historic Rezila, a place that preserves the truest spirit of the mountains. Here, for generations, the Iellici family has passionately carried on the hospitality of yesteryear. Today, it is Angelo who keeps the traditions of the mountain pasture alive, welcoming guests into a warm, simple setting rich in stories. The interior of the refuge speaks of rural life and memories, stretching back to the war years, when the building was converted into an Austro-Hungarian military hospital. Sitting by the crackling fire, amidst tales, the scent of wood and traditional Ladin dishes, one rediscovers the pleasure of life's simple joys. And then comes the time to return: the forest lit by the stars, the soft sound of footsteps in the night. An experience that smells of the real mountains, to be savoured slowly and carried with you even after returning to the valley.
Meeting point: every Thursday at 4.45 pm at the valley station of the Ronchi-Valbona gondola. Difficulty: easy. Children aged 8 and over, accustomed to walking in the mountains. The route is not suitable for pushchairs. Return scheduled for approximately 9.30 pm.
Price including guided excursion/experience and dinner: € 55 for adults, € 38 for juniors aged 8 to 12. Gondola lift ticket not included. The Panorama Pass and Dolomiti Supersummer cards are valid for the lift. Registration at the Fassa Sport office in Moena, by phone on +39 0462 573770 or online by 6 pm on the previous day.
