In Val di Fassa, there are desserts that are only prepared on special occasions: carnival, festivals and popular celebrations. Among these are "fortae" (or "strauben" in German): a delicious fried dough, shaped like a snail, served with cranberry jam, chocolate cream and a sprinkling of icing sugar.
On Thursday, from 3.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m., in the small square in front of the tourist office, you can taste one of the valley's most typical desserts, carefully prepared by the volunteers of the "Grop de le Volontadive da Vich". And if the weather is bad, don't worry: there will be another opportunity to taste them!
