The ancient Art of falconry

Among the most royal birds of prey, falcons are the protagonists of a fascinating and ancient show, made even more impressive by the panorama that can be admired from the Ciampedie

Once used in the art of hunting, falconry is now a demonstration of ancient falcon training. Its history dates back to ancient times. In fact, the first evidence of falconry hunting takes us to Mesopotamia and China. It was most widespread during the Middle Ages and was also practised by certain kings, such as Charlemagne and Henry I of Germany. At the court of Frederick II, in the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, falconry became a real science.

Activity open to all and organised by the Catinaccio mountain lift company. Meeting point at the top station of the cable car.

Registration: not required. Activity included in the Panorama Pass or in the lift ticket. In case of rain, the activity will take place by the events pavilion in Vigo.

Event location: Ciampedie (1998 m), Vigo di Fassa (San Giovanni di Fassa)
