The lair of the squirrel

Guided nature excursion to Ciampedie to get to know the forest and its inhabitants

Programme: it is a daytime creature, it spends the night within the trees cavities and it is a capable jumper. What is it? Another tip: it feeds on nuts, nuts, buds, gems, acorns, mushrooms and fruit, but it also happen to complete its diet with small animals, eggs and insects. It gathers wide quantities of foods during summertime, storing them into well-hidden cabinets, in order to dip into them during the periods of weak (except for when they forget about it, helping this way with the reproduction of the plants). It's the squirrel, and it's Ladin name is "schieratola"!

An easy nature hike of about 2 hours, organized by the lift company Catinaccio, to discover and admire the wood, its plants and the squirrel's natural habitat, following an easy path with 8 hand-painted explanatory and descriptive boards.

Meeting point: by the top station of the cable car. Every Tuesday and Saturday at 10.15 a.m. 

Registration: not required. Activity included in the Panorama Pass or in the lift ticket. Clothes and shoes suitable for mountain excursions are required. Strollers allowed. In case of bad weather, the activity will be cancelled.

Take part in the contest "Paint your chair". Draw what you have most liked during the excursion and hand in your work to the guide or at the cash desks of the lifts. The three most representative drawings will selected to adorn three chairs of the chair lift "Vajolet 1".
