Contemporary jazz comes to Moena for the Val di Fassa Panorama Music festival
The quartet composed of Pietro Tonolo (saxophones and flute), Paolo Birro (keyboards), Caterina Crucitti (electric bass and vocals) and Giovanni Giorgi (drums) presents their CD "Ballad for Very Tired and Very Sad Lotus Eaters", a project that intertwines talent and improvisation with originality and depth. Born from the meeting of four great personalities of contemporary jazz, the ensemble alternates its own compositions with reinterpretations of standards by Carla Bley, Thelonious Monk, Hendrix, Domenico Modugno and others, creating soundscapes in which tradition meets the present in a continuous process of collective creation. Caterina Crucitti stands out for her dual instrumental and vocal talents, while alongside her are the melodic elegance of Tonolo, the harmonic sensitivity of Birro and the rhythmic versatility of Giorgi, who brings with him a wealth of national and international collaborations.
Val di Fassa Panorama Music is organised by the cultural association "La Grenz", under the artistic direction of Enrico Tommasini, in collaboration with the valley's cableway companies and with the support of the Val di Fassa Tourist Board. The concert is free of charge. In case of bad weather, the concert will take place inside the farmstead.
