A concert of vibrant soundscapes, where tradition and the present collide in a continuous act of collective creation
The quartet composed of Pietro Tonolo (saxophones and flute), Paolo Birro (keyboards), Caterina Crucitti (electric bass and vocals) and Giovanni Giorgi (drums) presents their CD "Ballad for Very Tired and Very Sad Lotus Eaters", a project that intertwines talent and improvisation with originality and depth. Born from the meeting of four great personalities of contemporary jazz, the ensemble alternates its own compositions with reinterpretations of standards by Carla Bley, Thelonious Monk, Hendrix, Domenico Modugno and others, creating soundscapes in which tradition meets the present in a continuous process of collective creation. Caterina Crucitti stands out for her dual instrumental and vocal talent, while alongside her are the melodic elegance of Tonolo, the harmonic sensitivity of Birro and the rhythmic versatility of Giorgi, who brings with him a wealth of national and international collaborations.
